Leila's new ride

After Leila tried to steal not one, not two, but THREE of these push-cars we finally broke down and got her her own. (She tried to steal two at different parks, and one at the zoo.)

Yesterday was a lazy afternoon and we weren't doing anything so we thought a trip to Babies 'R Us was in order. We showed Leila the picture on the box and she said "Yeah, yeah, yeah. Llllleila!" which we took as her wanting it. Tony put it together as soon as we got home, and we took Leila's new ride for a couple spins around the park. When we got home Leila decided she still hadn't had enough so Tony took her on another ride, around our townhouse complex. He said Leila loved going over the speed bumps.

Later that night Leila saw her car outside, grabbed Tony's pants, pulled him to the back door, pointed to her car and said "Please?" So, they went on another ride.

Leila absolutely loves her new car!

Pigtails!

The day has finally come where my sweet, little angel face can wear pigtails!!!

Yesterday, while at Babies 'R Us we passed an end cap with some cute, little ponytail holders with bows. Tony asked if Leila can wear pigtails yet. I told him I'd never tried, so we busted open the package (which we ended up buying) and, yes indeed she has enough hair for pigtails! She looks so stinking cute!

When I took out her bow to put in the pigtails she was upset at first, crying "Bow, bow" and pointing to the top of her head, but she warmed up to her new piggy tails and forgot about her signature bow!

I wasn't able to get a clear shot of the pigtails since she wasn't feeling like doing a photo shoot, but you can still see them!

Bust a move

Her favorite song in the whole world:

Please Don't Stop the Music:

FYI - the small videos after Leila's video are YouTube videos - don't click on them unless you want to see whatever video it is (I have no idea what they are) but they will take you to a completely different website.

My little thief

She is such a smart cookie. Whenever there's a wallet laying around Leila goes for the cash first, and then the plastic. I am so very proud.

Fun with friends

Rachel and Peyton invited us over for an afternoon playdate. Leila's buddy, Tyson and his mommy, April were there too! It was hot outside so all three munchkins were in bathing suits and swim diapers. Even though there was a kiddie pool, and a super fun sprinkler (with a mini water slide!) Leila preferred to play in the fountain.

*Sigh* What can ya do?

Leila also loved playing with the little dirtbike, the car and the lawnmower. Tony would be so proud.

Thank you Rachel and Peyton for having us over today!

Yum!

Leila's Daddy made us a delicious dinner tonight - turkey burgers and fresh fruit salad. While Leila loved all of her dinner, the fruit salad was her favorite!

Hawking her goods

Notice anything different?

Look closely.

Dang!

So, here I am in the den, on www.people.com when I read that Angelina Jolie confirmed that she and Brad Pitt are having twins. As soon as I realized that they'll have six kids under the age of six I said "Dang!" Leila stops reading her book and says "Daaaaaaaaang." So I started laughing. Then she went back to her book, flipped to another page, pointed to a zebra and said "Dang." Next page, she points to a beach ball "dang."

I guess I'll add "dang" to her list of words. At least it's not damn.

Bikini bod

Leila wasn't so into talking to the camera, but at least you can hear her cute, little voice a few times.

15 month stats

We just got back from Leila's pediatrician for her 15-month Well Baby visit. She is doing perfectly!! She was friendly to everyone, except for when Dr. Sam tried to hold her hands down....then she got mad! She got three shots and handled them like a champ!

STATS:

Weight: 22.5 pounds - 45th percentile
Height: 31 1/4 inches - 75th percentile
Head: 48.8 centimeters - 80th percentile

So, she's a tall, skinny girl with a big head. : ) She's perfect!

Everyone go to Safeway!

The next time you're at Safeway make sure to go to the baby aisle and check out the "Mom to Mom" (Safeway's new line) bottle liners. They feature a very cute, very chunky, very blue-eyed little princess!!

I'm so excited Leila's bottle liners are finally out! It seemed like it was taking forever (it took about ten months!) but I guess developing a whole new product line from start to finish doesn't just happen overnight.

Sorry the picture is a little blurry - I'll try to take some better ones soon!

Random cuteness

I just really, really like this picture - it's a perfect combo of her smile and her stinker face!

Another conversation with Leila

She's saying her name just for you, Rachel!

Unfortunately, Leila wasn't really cooperating. She was way more interested in trying to get the camera than to actually talk. Oh, well. At least you get to hear her cute voice. And, yes, those are bruises on her forehead. She plays hard.

Jellies!

Aaah, jellies. They were my absolute favorite shoes when I was little. My cousin Kristina and I had jellies in every color of the rainbow. I am so excited that Leila has her first pair of jellies!! I thought she might not like them on her feet, because the texture is so weird but man, was I wrong! She adores them!! All day long (yesterday) she would point to her feet and say "shooooooes" (sounds more like "sooz") Then when I took them off she cried. She kept bringing them back to me, whining "sooz, sooz" so I caved and put them back on. She looked quite stylish wearing her pajamas and jellies. When it was finally time for bed I took them off and said "Goodnight shoes." She gave her jellies a big, open-mouthed kiss and said "N-nye sooz"

They may make her feet smell like stinky, cheap plastic but she loves them and I do too. Aah, jellies.
